{"id":1979,"date":"2012-06-15T07:50:25","date_gmt":"2012-06-15T06:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alchealth.com\/news\/?p=1979"},"modified":"2025-01-23T16:04:24","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T16:04:24","slug":"alc-healths-andy-lindley-begins-marathon-bike-ride-from-london-to-paris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alchealth.com\/news\/alc-healths-andy-lindley-begins-marathon-bike-ride-from-london-to-paris\/","title":{"rendered":"ALC Health&#8217;s Andy Lindley begins marathon bike ride from London to Paris"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Andy Lindley, a member of ALC Health\u2019s Head Office client services team is cycling from Wembley Stadium Arch in\u00a0\u00a0London (UK) to the Arc de Triumph in Paris\u00a0(France) to raise funds for Help the Hospice between\u00a014<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June\u00a0with a great\u00a0start covering over 90 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Leaving early morning at 5.30 Andy and his fellow riders \u00a0were thankfully ahead of the morning rush hour traffic with a fairly flat run through to their first stop in Chertsey. However this\u00a0proved to lull everyone into a false sense of security as the remaining 66 miles were over and through the North\/South downs on route to the coast, including the dreaded Beacon Hill. \u00a0Passing Haslemere in Surrey, Andy\u00a0was tempted \u00a0to pop into one of ALC Health&#8217;s clients, Quin-Essence for a desperately needed rest but thankfully resisted doing so in fear of being asked to make another mid-term policy adjustment.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mile followed mile and hill followed hill with only the thought of getting to their hotel bed kept everyone going, till at last Portsmouth came into view.
